BP4_GoAnimate

The Second web 2.0 tool that I found that is useful and helpful, is a site called GoAnimate. This site is free to use, the only thing you have to do is sign up and start creating your own animation, then once your done you can post this on youtube or on your own personal site. GoAnimate also has a feature that allows the user to upload their own images and use them in their animation.

This site is good for anyone who is a beginner in animation, this is a user friendly site and anyone who is creative and has an imagination can animate their own cartoon however they see fit. This site is also great for teachers who wants to teach their elementary students anything, the teachers and/or students have a free range of lessons. One example is that I can use this tool for my Action Research project, because I can animate the characters, and have a conversation and teach people at the same time, just like the Disney cartoon Handy Manny.

I can have my friends and my wife help me and I can put a good animation together, that would be related to my AR project. The use of this animation site is endless, it can be incorporated into almost any subject, or situation that the user sees fit.

  1. Mario, I really like this tool. I researched too and thought that it would be great on teaching focused lessons on behavior. This would be great for my AR project because I need to come up with innovative ways to implement a behavior lesson plan for my topic which is Positive Behavior Intervention Systems (PBIS). I know that the site is free to join, but I wasn't clear on the character bucks that you had to spend to get their clothes. Otherwise, I feel that it is a great find and can be an asset in any classroom.

    Thanks for sharing.

  2. It seems as if a few people have been blogging on this GoAnimate site. So, I finally decided to check it out for myself. Wow...I see why everyone is getting so excited. Students would love this tool. I could use it in my reading class when discussing characters or the different types of conflict in a story. Students could create different animated clips demonstrating their knowledge of the concept being taught. I agree with you that the possibilities are endless. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Mario, this Go Animate site is a great animation tool for all users and grade levels. It has features similar to Xtranormal, another animation Web 2.0 tool. It is especially nice to upload your own images to use in animation. This feature wasn't provided in Xtranormal. This is a great teaching and learning tool for all teachers and learners. This is a good program to use for my action research project.

    Thank you.
